Mission Statement & Overview
Vision Statement
Everybody has access to a quality affordable home.
Mission Statement
Building homes and hope in partnership with God’s
people.
Where We Build
Trinity Habitat for Humanity builds in the following
counties:
Johnson County – Our Johnson County
chapter has constructed 31 homes in several Johnson
County cities.
Parker County – The steering committee,
formed in early 2006, is excited about building homes
locally as many of its members had been active with
the Fort Worth affiliate. Since 2007 we have built
two homes in Parker County.
Tarrant County – Since the
board of directors formed in 1989, our affiliate has
been actively making a difference. The majority of
the homes we build are in Fort Worth.
Wise County - A group of Wise
County residents became interested in starting
Habitat in Wise County several years ago. In their
effort to get going they decided to join the Trinity
Habitat family. Since 2007 we have built two homes
in Wise County.
Overview
Founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller and his wife Linda,
Habitat for Humanity has built in excess of 225,000
quality affordable homes around the world.
All Habitat for Humanity affiliates build on the
belief that everyone deserves a decent place to live at
a price they can afford. Habitat for Humanity
volunteers, working hand in hand with the families they
serve, build quality, affordable homes using donations
of money and materials.
Partner families, as our homebuyers are known, invest
hundreds of hours of sweat equity in the construction of
their homes, then buy their houses, making monthly
payments on an interest-free mortgage. Their house
payments revolve back into Habitat’s work. Thus a dollar
invested in Habitat is a buck that never stops-it just
keeps building.
With affiliates in every U.S. state and in 100
countries around the world, Habitat has attracted
millions of volunteers, from U.S. presidents to such
celebrities as Cher, Reba McIntire, and Oprah to name a
few.
Fort Worth Area Habitat for Humanity was founded in
1989 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity
International. Fort Worth Area Habitat has since grown
from a handful of dedicated founders into a volunteer
corps of thousands and today ranks among the top 20 U.S.
Habitat affiliates in home production. In 2006 the name
was changed to Trinity Habitat for Humanity in order to
be more inclusive of the four counties we serve.
