Non-sponsor Groups and Individuals

If you are an individual or group and you want to help build a home but are not providing funding yet, please go here or call our Volunteer Department at 817-926-9219, ext. 108. Please note: When the weather is nice, Saturdays tend to book up months in advance.

We have three groups of individuals that regularly work one day each week. While many work virtually every week, others work occasionally.

Cornerstone Volunteer Leadership Program

Cornerstone Website

The Cornerstone program is a group of dedicated volunteers who serve as managers on our construction sites. The program has two levels:

Crew Chief – To qualify as a crew chief you must attend CC 1 and CC 2 courses. In these courses we will teach you the basics about Habitat and construction. Crew Chiefs are expected to represent Habitat to the public and to lead small groups of volunteers on the construction site. Crew chiefs will have master crew chiefs or other qualified house leaders to look to for direction.

Master Crew Chief – To qualify you must first become a crew chief. Once you have attained that level you may then start taking the more intense construction technique training classes: Framing 1, Framing 2, Exterior Finish, and Finishing Touches.
